Comparison of different ways of breeding, nutrition and controlled reproduction of Lota lota
ZÁVORKA, Milan
Based on the results reached after 216 days of experimentation with various breeding types, it can be said that the type of feed is not of paramount importance. This fact is based on the previous adaptation of submitted food, this is especially important for artificial feed. From our point of view, the more important factor is temperature, intensity and method of breeding. Prey selections choices involving 11 species of fish were performed on age groups of different burbot. All groups of burbot preferred the following species: grass carp, pikeperch, tench and stone moroko. The non-preferred species was ruffe. And different preferences were set for common carp, silver carp, burbot, sunfish and also for roach. The study evaluated reproductive parameters in burbot (Lota lota ) and focused on incubation time in two localities. Burbot spawning was observed from January to early February at an average temperature of 1.55 +- 0.9 °C in Borova Lada and 4.78 +- 0.11 °C in Mydlovary. For burbot at the age of 2+, at an average 1166 +- 100 were determined number of swollen eggs per gram. Relative fecundity was at 257260 +- 70678 eggs per kilogram of female. The absolute fecundity was at 24232 +- 6753 eggs. The last parameter evaluated was the incubation period. The average incubation period in the years 2020-2022 was 202 +- 24.55 °D in Mydlovary and 75.8 +- 16.67 °D in Borova Lada. In connection with artificial spawning, in this study, we further point out the possibility of peeling artificially spawn eggs with NaClO, in which we did not observe a negative effect.
Výhody a další perspektivy využití smíšené obsádky pstruha duhového (Oncorhynchus mykiss) a mníka jednovousého (Lota lota) v podmínkách intenzivní akvakultury
PROFANT, Vít
This diploma thesis was focused on the culture of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in combination with burbot (Lota lota) in the Recirculation Aquaculture System (RAS). Production growth indicators, the amount of accumulated undissolved substances and their chemical analysis were compared. In addition, indexes, biochemical analysis and oxidative stress were compared between the experimental groups of burbot. Three groups were tested in the three repetitions. The first experimental group (70/30) contained 70 pieces of trout and 30 pieces of burbot, in the second group (85/15) there were 85 pieces of trout and 15 pieces of burbot and in the last third group (100/0) there were 100 pieces of trout and 0 pieces burbot. The experiment lasted 77 days and control overfishing and weighing, including collection of accumulated undissolved substances, took place on days 21, 42, 63, and 77, when the experiment was terminated. At the beginning and at the end of the experiment, the total length (TL), standard length (SL) and weight (W) were measured for both species. The average water temperature was 17, 91 ? 0.48 ° C and the light period was 12L: 12D, with an average light intensity of 150 lux. Almost no mortality was reported for rainbow trout, but for burbot the mortality was 10% in the group (70/30) and 24.4% in the group (85/15). The SGR for rainbow trout was the significantly highest in the group 70/30 in I. and II. experiment period. The FCR value occurred at the end of IV. period to decrease 0.2 in group 70/30 compared to group 100/0, but there was no statistical difference. Based on data from this experiment regarding biomass and weight of individual fish, rainbow trout has clearly outgrown burbot across all periods. The same result was seen for TL, SL, W and Fulton's condition factor (FC). In the group (70/30), the amount of accumulated undissolved substances in one day was statistically significantly reduced at the end of III. and IV. experiment period. The same result was obtained for the relative amount of undissolved substances in relation to the feed ration used. According to the chemical analysis of the collected undissolved substances, there was a significant reduction in the absolute amount of dry matter and organic dry matter in IV. experimental period. The reduction of the absolute amount of phosphorus and the improvement of its retention based on the relative amount of total phosphorus in the undissolved substances with respect to the amount of feed was confirmed at the end of III. and IV. period in group 70/30. 93 There were significant differences in burbot between groups 70/30 and 85/15 in spleen somatic index, oxidative stress in the intestine, and phosphorus levels in blood plasma. These values were higher in burbot in the group (70/30), indicating that burbot in this group were more limited by the food source. According to the mentioned results, the 70/30 group was considered like the most advantageous in comparison with the other tested groups with regarding to the amount of collected undissolved substances and nutrient retention. On the other hand, in terms of welfare and physiological condition of the burbot, the 85/15 group was better evaluated compared to the 70/30 group. In general, burbot can be considered as a new potential species according to this testing in order to more diversify of freshwater aquaculture.
Water temperature influence on the success of intensive farming of burbot (Lota lota L.)
CHOTĚBORSKÝ, Michal
The aim of this work was to realize the first intensive rearing of juvenile fish of burbot in the Czech Republic (TL = 165.79 +- 18.87, W = 32.91 +- 10.27 g) in recirculation aquaculture system (RAS) at different water temperatures. A total of 9 tanks were used in the three separate RAS systems. For a period of 12 weeks survival (S), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR) and the condition of the fish (FC) was observed at 3 week intervals. The best values of survival (98 +- 0.4%) were achieved in burbots kept at a water temperature of 15 ° C. Survival in the group of fish kept at a water temperature of 18 °C did not statistically differ from the group of fish reared at 15 °C and 21 °C. The SGR value for the fish at a water temperature of 15 °C was (0.7 +- 0.09%.d-1) at 18 °C the SGR value was (0.45 +- 0.1%.d-1) and fish kept at a water temperature of 21 °C reached SGR values of 0.33 +- 0.04%.d-1. The best FCR values (1.27 +- 0.35) were reached also in the group of fish kept at 15 °C. For burbot kept at a water temperature of 21 °C, the FCR value was 2.78 +- 1.17. Based on our results we can conclude that the most appropriate water temperature for rearing juvenile burbot was 15 °C.
Reproduction Burbot burbot (\kur{Lota lota}) and incubation of eggs at different temperatures in service
MIKEŠOVÁ, Lucie
The study evaluated the reproductive performance in Burbot burbot (Lota lota L.) and compared the incubation period at two locations. It was confirmed that the burbot wipes at the end of December and beginning of January with an average temperature of 1,93 ? 0,8 ° C. It was found that the content of the eggs in one gram is 3325 ? 248 pieces eggs and 1 ml is 1434 ? 24 pieces of eggs. Also, to evaluate the size of eggs before and after swelling. Size before swelling was 0,814 ? 8 mm and the swelling 0,838 ? 7,1 mm. Further, the absolute and relative fecundity and GSI, the absolute fecundity was 289,279 ? 204,759 pieces of eggs, the relative fertility of 763,523 ? 110,061 pieces of eggs per kilogram of body weight of fish and GSI was 23,15 ? 3.9%. The last parameter was rated incubation period. The incubation period was Vodňany 178,4 ° D and Borových Ladách 145,4 ° D.
